On behalf of our client in the manufacturing sector, we are seeking an experienced Operations Executive with expertise in exporting plastic and glass waste.
The Operations Executive will manage the operational aspects of our client's waste handling processes across both local and international processing sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating weekly shipping needs, coordinating outbound waste logistics, and ensuring efficient and compliant waste transportation. This role combines on-site supervision with office-based administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations related to waste handling and shipping from our client's Clearing Centre in south of Malta.
- Assess and determine weekly shipping volumes for materials including PET, glass, aluminium based on historic data.
- Supervising outgoing loading operations on shop floor.
- Coordinate and organize logistical tasks, including liaising with haulers and shipping agents.
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations and liaise with authorities as necessary.
- Monitor and manage schedules for finished goods preparation and shipment to ensure efficiency in processing.
- Oversee and schedule the personnel currently operating handling equipment on-site together with the Head of Operations.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on shipping and handling activities, including our client's shipment register, container tracking, weight of shipped goods, weight of goods received by suppliers, waste movement documents etc.
- Address any operational issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in business development as required.
Requirements:
- Preferable experience in logistics, shipping, or waste management.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Flexibility to work both in an office environment and on-site as needed.
- Knowledge of local regulations related to waste handling and shipping is a plus.
- Knowledge on health and safety.
- Ability to organise schedules for operational staff according to exigencies
- Ability to speak and write in English.
