Responsibilities:
- Advising on a wide spectrum of employment issues
- Contract drafting and review, assisting clients in reviewing and negotiating employment contracts
- Advising on disciplinary matters, including forming part of independent disciplinary boards
- Whistleblower protection, support and protect whistleblowers, ensuring their rights are safeguarded
- Drafting and amending policies and procedures for clients
- Contributing to legal due diligence exercises
- Advising on more complex TUPE, redundancy and collective redundancy measures
- Client representation in any Industrial Tribunal cases
- Legal research and analysis, staying abreast of employment laws and regulations to ensure accurate and up-to-date legal advice
- Organizing engagements and workflows
- Leading and co-ordinating business development initiatives
- Managing client relationships
- Keeping abreast of legal and regulatory developments in the employment sphere
- Developing and contributing towards the development of the organization’s knowledge base, by giving on-the job training, participating in academic initiatives and publishing articles and analyses
- Developing and contributing towards the organisation’s traineeship and young lawyer programme through mentoring and training initiatives
- The chosen candidates must be a holder of a warrant to practice as an Advocate in Malta and must have more than 4 years’ experience handling employment related work in Malta.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Maltese
- Command of any other languages would be considered an asset
