Responsibilities:
- Ongoing consultancy to clients in financial crime compliance, including the carrying out of audits, gap analyses, simulated on-site inspections, the drafting and/or review of policies and procedures, the drafting and/or review of staff manuals, assistance with the drawing up and implementation of remediation plans, training of staff and officers, ongoing technical and operational assistance to MLROs and Compliance Officers, and the carrying out of AML/CFT risk assessments.
- Developing AML/CFT training material and delivering training workshops to clients of the Group.
- Participating in events, conferences, and workshops organised by the group or third-party bodies, possibly even in a speaking role, on thematic areas where the Senior Advisor can be considered to be a subject-matter expert.
- Assisting clients with the drawing up and updating of AML/CFT risk assessments.
- Providing internal support to the entities within the Group in the development of procedures and the application of those procedures, including the review of customer due diligence files and the provision of guidance and advice.
- Assist on client assignments that require transaction monitoring, fraud investigative work, forensic analysis, and/or forensic accounting.
- Where the law allows outsourcing, providing on-site or off-site managed services to subject persons and persons appointed as MLRO on licensed entities.
- Leading AML/CFT and risk management consultancy projects, providing mentorship, guidance and support as needed.
- Supporting and providing research insights on changing regulations in areas of financial crime compliance for licenced entities.
- Participation in both short and long-term projects in which the staff are either seconded to clients or carry out compliance-related duties at the offices of clients. Tasks undertaken could include sanctions screening, the review of suspicious transactions, ongoing transaction monitoring, file reviews, account reviews, file remediation and the carrying out of customer risk assessments.
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Leading AML/CFT projects and providing support to team members to ensure that all projects are executed in a timely manner.
- Coaching, mentoring, and guiding other advisors.
- Providing internal support to the companies forming part of the group of companies.
- Development and management of systems adopted by the department, ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements:
- A university degree in Law, Criminology, Finance, or a related discipline.
- An AML-related diploma from a recognised institution will be considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least 3 years of AML experience.
- In-depth knowledge of local AML/CFT compliance laws and regulations.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
