Our client, a well-known CSP in Malta, is currently looking to recruit a Corporate Lawyer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Advising regulated and non-regulated clients on a multitude of legal and regulatory obligations within the fields of company law, commercial law, regulated industries (gaming and financial services), AML/CFT, intellectual property law and privacy law;
  • Assisting in and taking ownership of the day-to-day planning and management of clients’ activities and obligations imposed by way of operation of the clients’ business activities, local regulatory and supervisory authorities, including but not limited to, the drafting, review and negotiation of legal instruments;
  • Keeping abreast of all relevant laws and regulations and their development relevant to the areas of operation in which the assigned portfolio of clients operate in;
  • Identifying market and regulatory trends with a view of professional development and developing overall service offering;
  • Developing and delivering training to clients and members of staff on the use of systems, procedures and internal processes of relevant concern;
  • Any other ancillary duties which the Legal Advisor may be asked to perform.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within the advisory space;
  • A Doctor of Laws (LL.D) and/or Master of Advocacy (M.Adv) degree (or EU/EEA recognised equivalent), along with a valid warrant/authorisation to practice law in Malta;
  • Proven knowledge and familiarity with the laws, rules and regulations related to the ordinary course of business of Corporate Services Providers, Trusts and Trustees, gaming licence holders (MGA and other authorities), the financial services sector (MFSA);
  • Able to apply critical and inquisitive thinking in relation to clients and their activities, hailing from a broad range of jurisdictions and industries;
  • Organised, self-driven and able to work independently;
  • Verbal and written fluency in English.
