Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing and nurturing relationships to understand their needs and provide tailored accounting solutions.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and integration of their financial records into company systems.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple clients, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Review clients’ bookkeeping, VAT returns, and payroll.
- Facilitate and coordinate external audits for clients, liaise with auditors, and ensure the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Assist clients in preparing budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and financial insights to support business decisions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls for clients to safeguard assets and ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
- Ensure clients' compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting operations for clients.
- Oversee accounting systems and software used by clients, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive financial services and support for client projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA qualification required.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a client service environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to plan and adapt to unexpected changes and work under tight deadlines.
